Cookie Dough Hummus

Posted on November 21, 2011

There seems to be a theme lately….cookie dough treats! Healthier cookie dough treats that is!

Traditional hummus dips are heavy on the garlic; however, this “dessert” hummus omits the garlic and instead, adds nut butter and a few chocolate chips! Serve at your next party and I can guarantee a few surprised quests will be happy & healthy munchers! (Many thought I was serving actual cookie dough!)

  • 1.5cups chickpeas, drained (1 can)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2tsp vanilla
  • 1/4  cup peanut butter
  • 2-3tbsp brown sugar
  • 2-3tbsp oatmeal (you can omit if you want a “smoother” mixture)
  • 2-4tbsp skim or non-dairy milk (add 1tbsp at a time)
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

  1. Combine all ingredients, excluding chocolate chips and milk in a food processor
  2. Blend, adding 1tbsp milk until desired texture is reached
  3. Stir in chocolate chips
  4. Serve with apple slices & graham crackers
